I started practicing yoga over a decade ago. . .
I first discovered yoga in college to ease stress and back pain and never turned back. My passion for movement started as a toddler when I joined dance classes in St. Charles, Missouri. The passion for dance led to the passion for theatre. In 2014, I graduated from Oklahoma City University with a BFA in Acting. It didn’t take long for me to realize that the theatre industry was really just a long detour into the world of yoga. The movement of yoga felt familiar in my body, and I quickly learned how important yoga was for my mental health. In 2016 I received my 200 hour yoga certification in Spain, little did I know this was just the beginning of this journey. For me, yoga is a way of life, an everyday practice, and it sets the foundation for the person I want to be in the world.
What to expect in my classes. . .
I teach various styles of yoga including vinyasa, hatha, restorative, yin, prenatal, trauma-informed, and chair. Regardless of the style of yoga, I teach from a trauma informed lense. This means that I offer a lot of options in my classes. I give people the time and space to make choices throughout their practice so they can honor how their body feels. It’s important to me to hold space in a way that gives people agency, empowerment, and the freedom to show up exactly as they are. It’s my greatest intention to help everyone feel included and welcomed in the yoga space regardless of ability, race, gender, or financial status. Yoga means union, it’s roots are to include not exclude.
